The Global Restoration Institute (GRI) was co-founded by Ken Hyatt, J.D., a seasoned leader in conflict resolution and global negotiation and policymaking, and Thomas Hübl, PhD, an expert in collective trauma healing. Together, they are developing a new approach that integrates mediation and negotiation with collective trauma healing.
GRI understands the underlying cause of conflict: the legacy of historical wounds and resulting unresolved societal trauma. War, famine, genocide, oppression, and forced migration are examples of historical events which continue to constrict present and future possibilities, perpetuating division, violence, and suffering in the world.
With their expanding team, Ken and Thomas focus on identifying and engaging key “acupressure points” within public, private, and civil sectors to facilitate processes that influence policymaking, diplomacy, and leadership to create impact across communities and regions.
Grounded in a sense of interconnectedness, reverence for collective history, and the transformative power of awareness, GRI creates the conditions for possible new futures to emerge.
The GRI team pursues its mission through partnering with global leaders and influential organizations such as the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA).
Global Restoration Institute is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

A world with a deeper capacity to heal the wounds of our past, restore fractured relationships of our present, and enable possible new futures to emerge.
