Sarada Peri

Sarada Peri is a speechwriter and message strategist who has helped top leaders and thinkers – from Fortune 50 CEOs to the President of the United States—inspire and persuade audiences. As the founder of Peri Communications, she helps C-suite executives, nonprofit leaders, philanthropists, politicians, and celebrities with speechwriting, speech delivery, communications strategy, and more. 

Sarada served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Speechwriter for President Barack Obama. She was a speechwriter at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Democratic National Conventions, and co-managed the 2024 convention writers’ room. Prior to joining the White House, Sarada was a Principal at West Wing Writers and led health care and education policy for former Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA).

Sarada’s writing has appeared in The Atlantic, The Washington Post, New York Magazine, and other publications, and she is a frequent political commentator in the media. She is a Senior Fellow at the University of Virginia Miller Center and serves on the Board of Advisors for the Tisch College of Civic Life at Tufts University. Sarada began her career as a high school English teacher in New Orleans through Teach for America, and is a graduate of Tufts University and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
